SISC28 - Show 'em Who's Emboss!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

We're having a really fun challenge over on the StampInsanity blog this week - embossing! It can be wet or dry embossing. I don't wet emboss much anymore so I had fun digging into my embossing powder for this card. I also had a little fun with some eyelets and ribbon. I thought it would work well to lace up some ribbon on the card to reflect the lacing on her bodice. I had fun doing it and I hope you like it.

I printed the StampInsanity image (that you can buy HERE) on cream paper but wanted to tone down the brightness even further so I used my blending tool to sponge on some back ink around the image. The black paper was dry embossed and then wet embossed using Kaleidoscope embossing powder. I believe the DP is Bo Bunny but I'm not positive. I used silver eyelets and black ribbon from Michael's. The image is colored with Copics.

Get out your embossing folders and powders and join us this week!

Copic colors:
Black hair and heart - C9, C7, C5
Turquoise hair and clothes - BG13, BG11, BG09
Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20

Thanks for visiting!

Hi, this is sooo sweet, I love the colours you used, lovely and yes the lace on the card matches perfectly with her bodice. . . love it. I've only tried wet embossing once, and well I didn't get such a nice result he he but I'll have to try that one again!! xx
