You've Got Mail

Monday, January 25, 2010

I have a bunch of sets from My Favorite Things but hardly ever use them for some reason. I decided to rectify that and pulled out this set which I love. It has a bunch of different sentiments that are just perfect for the main image.

I paper pieced the couch and also added some paper to the bottom for carpet. It doesn't show up well in the picture but I distressed the edge of the carpet to make it look more like carpet. All the paper is from KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue and I bought it here. I used my new Bow Easy for the bow and I bought that here. The image was colored with Copics.

Fairies Everywhere!

Friday, January 22, 2010

I'm not so sure about this card - it didn't come together like I thought it would. But it is what it is, I guess!

I colored the image with Copics, the DP is Basic Grey, and the flowers are Primas I got here. I put Martha Stewart glitter on the wing.

This is my entry for the week three Prairie Fairy challenge. You can join in the challenge here and you can purchase the digital artwork here. She really has some great digis and they're not all fairies (although those are my favorites!).

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!

Prairie Fairy Challenge #2

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

This is a card for the second challenge on the Prairie Fairy blog (you can purchase digital images from the store here). I had to rotate the sketch to accomodate the larger image. I colored it with Copics, used Basic Gray Wassail paper, and flocking on the hats. The black buttons on the snowmen are black brads and I added three snowflakes although they don't show up well in the picture.

Valentine Tilda

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I just love this Magnolia image and had to use her for a Valentine's Day card to sell at a local shop! I colored her with Copics and felt her little apron needed something so I put the polka dots on it myself.

The DP is PaperTrey Ink, the cardstock is Bazzill, and the heart brads are from my stash so I'm not sure who makes them as I've had them for years. The large flowers are from Wild Orchid that were white but I colored with a red Copic. The small pink flower is a new Prima flower that I got here. I put the white dots on the Nestabilities frame with a Sharpie paint pen.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Flower Fairy

Monday, January 11, 2010

It's still bitterly cold here ( -15 when I got up this morning!) so I've been spending time in my warm studio working on Valentine's Day cards to sell at a local shop. I needed a break from all the red and pink and hearts so I made this card using another image from Prairie Fairy Designs.
I just couldn't resist this little fairy named Flower Fairy.

I colored the image with Copics and used Basic Grey Porcelain along with Bazzill cardstock. There are green dew drops in the corners and Martha Stewart glitter on her wings. I wanted to keep the layout pretty clean and simple because I didn't want anything competing with the image. Here's a closeup of the fairy where you can see the glitter on her wings a little better.<

Umbrella Girl

Isn't this image just the cutest?! I bought it at a new digi store called Prairie Fairy Designs. I just love all the images and I'm sure you will, too, so go check it out. There is also a challenge blog for the site and this card was made for their first challenge. Up for grabs is a free digi stamp!

I just got these new papers from Kaisercraft and had to use them right away. I LOVE purple and these papers are just delish. I got them here.

I colored the image with Copics. The sentiment in the circle was printed using Word, the "Get Well" sentiment was created using my JustRite stamp set. Border punch is Martha Stewart and the flower was made using a daisy punch and circle punch.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Red Tilda

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

This is a card I created for a family friend who was just diagnosed with cancer. On the inside it says, "Thinking of You" and there's a yellow flower with a black center that I punched out.

I colored the image with Copics. The center of the yellow flower has black glitter and I put a layer of Diamond Glaze on her boots so they would be shiny. The flowers I created using flower and circle punches. The white background was created with a Cuttlebug folder I just got called "Daisy Pattern."
