StampInsanity Christmas

I colored this image with Copics and used Liquid Applique on the furry parts of her outfit. The christmas ornaments were created using Martha Stewart Glitter Pens and I put a sprinkling of Glamour Dust on the star. The ribbon is from my stash and the red gems are KaiserCraft. The DP is a digital download from Tracy Ann Digital Art (TADA). I love her stuff!

I colored the image with Copics and, although you can't see it in the picture, coated their boots with Glossy Accents to make them shiny. I got the music off the Internet and shrunk it down and inked the edges in red. I really wanted the theme of music to be carried throughout the card so I used a sentiment stamp from Motivet and selected this DP that has all Christmas song titles on it. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I colored them with Copics to match. I also made the image 3D by popping up elements of the image which you can see here:
To carry the music theme through to the inside I used another stamp that is also song lyrics:
So I think that's enough with the music! I'm entering this in the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge #47 which is A Christmas Carol. You can find all the deets HERE.

Mornings Suck!
I love the look of black, white, and red so that's the color scheme I used for this card. The image is colored with Copics. The sentiment I created on my computer and cut it out, as well as the scalloped frame, using Nestabilities. Just a simple card.
I'm entering this in the Digi's With Attitude! challenge #10 which is anything goes with digi stamps and you can find HERE.

Blue Christmas
I colored the image with Copics and used Liquid Applique for the fluffy parts of their hats. I tried sprinkling some Glamour Dust on the applique while it was still wet but it didn't really turn out very good so I won't be doing that again. The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch. I covered them in Stickles then sprinkled Glamour Dust on them and I really like how they turned out. They really look like snow in real life. The digi paper is from Lauren Meader's store which you can find HERE.
I'm entering this in the iCopic Lover challenge #9 which is a color and picture inspiration challenge. You can find out all about it HERE. I'm also entering this in the Copic Creations challenge #40 which calls for light source. You can find out about that one HERE.

The challenge this week at the StampInsanity challenge blog is to make a project just for yourself. So often we make things with others in mind and choose images and paper based on their tastes so it was nice to make something just because I would like it and not worry about anyone else!
I chose this image because it's my favorite StampInsanity image. It's kind of retro and sassy and I just like it. I love the color combo of turqoise and brown so I had to use those colors. I colored the image with Copics and added some bling with Martha Stewart Glitter Pens on the hat and the skirt although you can't really see it in the photo. The DP I chose because I had seen it on a blog a while back and fell in love with it. Of course the paper was a little older so it was next to impossible to find but I finally hunted it down on eBay. I made the flower using the blossom Nestabilities and a pearl brad. The image and scalloped edge are cut out using Nestabilities too.
Now it's your turn to make some sort of paper project just for YOU! Choose your favorite stamp or image, your favorite paper (no hoarding!), and enjoy making something for yourself. Then join us over at StampInsanity. Need more inspiration? Check out the rest of the DT using the links on my sidebar.
As added incentive, StampInsanity is giving away a digi stamp set to three lucky participants and the winners get to select which digi stamp set they want! Winners will be determined by random draw so get those projects posted and link it HERE. You can see the whole line of stamps HERE.

There's also a GREAT sale going on in the store on one of the sets. Morgan's Star (which this sentiment is from) is on sale for half price! Can't beat that!
Get out your lace and/or fabric and play along with us HERE! Also be sure to check out the rest of the DT via links on my sidebar.

I colored her with Copics and I'm not too sure about the pinks I used. I tried a new combo and I think the darker pink is a little too dark. Oh well, live and learn! I used a Zig Painty Pen on the silver stool legs and gave a coat of Viva Decor Glass Effect Gel on the martini and her shoes. The DP is old from my stash and I'm not sure who makes it. The satin ribbon is from Michael's. I used a new Martha Stewart border punch also (thanks Mom!).
If you decide to enter the DT call ... good luck!
I'm entering this in the Digi's With Attitude! challenge #8 which calls for pink, black, and silver (pink dress, black stool seat, silver stool legs).

This week the challenge over at the StampInsanity blog is to follow a sketch. I colored my image with Copics and used Basic Grey designer paper. The border punch is by Martha Stewart and I used her new glitter glue on the flame of the candle. I punched the snowflake out of acetate using a Martha Stewart punch and covered it with her white glitter glue. I love that stuff! Similar to Stickles but the tip produces more of a fine application and the glitter is finer.
Here's the sketch for you to follow to join in the challenge:
Be sure to come join in on the fun! Because there's a new release, all the DT members have projects so be sure to check them out. The links are on my sidebar. Enjoy!

I colored the image, which you can get as a stamp set HERE, with Copics and added Liquid Applique to the fur trim on her outfit and hat. The snowflake punches are by Martha Stewart and I used MS peridot glitter as well. I used Smooch on her earings and the paper is from my stash and I'm not sure who makes it.
Get out your punches and join team 2 this week! Also check out the other DT creations for some great inspiration. You'll find the links on my sidebar for team 2. Have fun!
Challenges I'm entering my card in:

I kept the card pretty simple because I wanted her to be the main focal point. I colored her with Copics and the sentiment is computer generated. The white fur on her outfit is covered with polar white Flower Soft. The DP is from an unknown Christmas collection.
I'm entering this card in the DCD Christmas Club Challenge, Kenny K's challenge, Cards for men, Crafty Sentiments, and the Stamp Something challenge for this week.

Think Pink!

I colored the image with Copics. I found the sheet music for "Deck the Halls" online and I printed it out and shrunk it down so that it would fit on the card. I inked the edges and crinkled it up before affixing it to my base. I'm not sure who makes the DP but I thought it was perfect because it has the names of Christmas songs on it. The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I colored them with Copics too.
I cut out their hands holding the music and popped them up on foam dots.
And here's the inside of the card. Again, I used a sentiment that is the name of a song just to carry the theme all the way through.

Aren't they all yummy?! I got to play with Hilda for the challenge this week and this is what I came up with:
I really don't think these images are limited to Halloween but I decided to use a Halloween theme on my card. After seeing the picture of the card, however, I was disappointed. Don't you hate it when the picture of your card doesn't really look like the card does in real life? The inside of her cape and her hair is actually a pretty purple color but in the photo it looks more blue. And I spent a lot of time shading her and it doesn't really show up in the picture either. Grrr! Oh well, it is what it is I guess. I had a really fun time coloring her though!
I kept the design pretty simple because I really wanted Hilda to shine because she's so groovy! I colored her with Copics and you can't tell from the picture but I put purple gems on her arm bands for some added bling. The ribbon I won from Fantastic Ribbons and I tied the bow using the Bow Easy that I got HERE.
To see more of the images from the new release check out the other members of the DT listed on my sidebar. We've been broken into two teams but for this new release we're all creating projects this week.

This week the challenge is to use metal on your project. I thought about using a charm but then found these cute stocking brads that have been in my stash for too long. It's difficult to tell in the photo but all the white trim on her outfit was covered in Liquid Applique and it adds a nice dimension to the card. I colored with my Copics and the DP and ribbon are all from blog candy that I just won.
So get your metal on and be sure to come join all the Groovy Gurls for this challenge! You can find the challenge HERE. And if you want to purchase any (or all!) of the images (and why wouldn't you?) go HERE.
Copics used:
Outfit: R27, R24, R22
Belt, shoes, hair: C9, C7, C5
Bag: E35, E53
Shading on stockings and under feet: C2

I printed the StampInsanity image (that you can buy HERE) on cream paper but wanted to tone down the brightness even further so I used my blending tool to sponge on some back ink around the image. The black paper was dry embossed and then wet embossed using Kaleidoscope embossing powder. I believe the DP is Bo Bunny but I'm not positive. I used silver eyelets and black ribbon from Michael's. The image is colored with Copics.
Get out your embossing folders and powders and join us this week!

Black hair and heart - C9, C7, C5

Happy Thursday! Today I have another challenge from the StampInsanity blog to share with you. This week we had to limit ourselves to only one layer. I admit this was difficult for me because I like to have layers, but I don't think it turned out too bad. You can buy this image, as well as all their other spectacular images HERE.
I colored the image with Copics and used my dark gray Copic to also color the white pearls I had so they would match the ribbon. You can't really tell in this picture but I covered her boots and eyes with Diamond Glaze to give them a shine and look more realistic. I cut my oval with Nestibilities and went around the edge with my black Stickles. The ribbon is from Michael's.
Copic colors:
Hair: E35, YR23, Y23
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Bustier, boots, gloves: C9, C7, C5
Skirt: R85, R83, R81

Uh oh, I just noticed that I forgot to color his eyes! Well, they will be blue so just imagine that :-).
All the DP is from MME La Paperie collection, the glittered skittles are from Pezadoodle.com, and the cardstock is Bazzill. I colored the image with Copics.

I'm very proud to a guest designer for Stamp Insanity Stamps this month. It also happens to be the 1st birthday for Stamp Insanity! This is a new image created especially to celebrate the birthday and I think it's great! Also to celebrate there is a SALE going on. From September 2nd through September 8th at midnight, everything is a whopping 50% off!! You just use code BDAY2010 to get your discount - you don't want to miss this sale. Head over to the SI store HERE to do some shopping.
I colored the image with Copics. The DP is MME La Paperie and the cardstock is Bazzill and I coated the edges with black Stickles. Pink rhinestones are from KaiserCraft and I made the flower with blossom Nestabilities and a pearl brad from Hobby House. The top of her dress got a coating of Martha Stewart tourmaline glitter.
What's a birthday without cake, right?!
I made this "cake" using three graduated boxes and trim I cut using a Stampin' Up! border punch. The sentiment is a new one created for the birthday celebration. The image on top is the same as the one on my card, I just sized it way down so it would fit on the top of the cake (wasn't much fun to color that small!). The trim is Papertrey Ink's Sweet Blush and the boxes were created using the Back to Basics template.
Here's a close-up of the cake topper.
Stamp Insanity Stamps offers a lot of really cool digital and rubber stamps unlike anything else that's out there. Be sure to check out the other great images they have right HERE. Join in the challenge at the Stamp Insanity blog right HERE. Now it's time to check out the DT projects:
