Christmas Projects

Thursday, January 15, 2009

I decided it was finally time to post some pictures of some gifts I made for Christmas. Doesn't Christmas seem like a long time ago now?!

I made this box out of Bazzill black card stock (it measures 4"x4") and then cut some black and white designer paper and adhered it to all the sides. The lid is 4" with 1 1/2" sides. I printed the sentiment from my computer and I used a butterfly stamp from Papertrey Ink's Butterfly Kisses set. I stamped it in black on red card stock and covered it with clear embossing powder for a nice shine. The butterfly is cut out by hand, I made antennas out of black wire, and glued the whole thing to the box top.

Finally, I tied a sheer white ribbon around the lid of the box.

Inside the box are little slips of paper on which loved ones of the recipient wrote nice things for her to read. It was a big hit!

My mother loves a certain kind of candy from a local shop so I gave her some of those but decided to jazz them up a little bit. I used small frosted tin tie bags from Papertrey Ink and made little covers for the tops of the bags. This one has milk chocolate candies and I used some decorative Christmas poinsettia paper, a poinsettia stamp from Verve's Christmas Poinsettia set, and adhesive pearls for the center of the flower.

The dark chocolate version of the candies went into a separate bag and I used Verve's Ornamental Christmas set, silver embossing powder, blue Bazzill card stock, and silver ribbon from Papertrey Ink.
Ok, I think I'm ready to move on from Christmas now!

Pink and Aqua Christmas

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

I must say, I really like how this card turned out. I used K&Co. Christmas paper (LOVE that stuff!) and painted the image with watercolors to match.

I stamped the image twice and cut out the reindeer so she could have two pulling her sleigh. I attached the second reindeer with pop dots.

I used snowflakes from a Cuttlebug die and covered them with diamond dust.

I used Glossy Accents on the seat and the noses of the reindeer, I used white flocking on the trim and pom pon of her hat, and I cut a separate piece of paper (wavy at the top) and covered it with snow glitter to look like they're actually on snow. Oh, I also used the snow glitter on parts of the sleigh.

Thanks for visiting!
